Persistent nephrogram on abdominal radiography and computed tomography.

چکیده
A 51-year-old Japanese man presenting with acute abdomen was admitted to our hospital. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) led to a diagnosis of gastroenteritis on admission (Picture 1A). Contrast-induced oliguric acute kidney injury followed by septic shock developed, and the serum creatinine level rose from 0.98 mg/dL to 5.07 mg/dL, requiring temporary hemodialysis. Kidney-shaped enhancement was observed on an abdominal X-ray after 24 hours of

Persistent Nephrogram
An 81-year-old man with chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and aortic stenosis was admitted with a fever and nausea. Computed tomography (CT) of the abdomen with intravenous administration of iodixnanol was performed on the day of admission at another hospital (Picture 1). One day later, unenhanced CT of the abdomen was repeated, showing a striking enhancement of the renal parenchyma of both...
متن کاملPlain abdominal radiography in acute abdominal pain; past, present, and future
Several studies have demonstrated that a diagnosis based solely on a patient's medical history, physical examination, and laboratory tests is not reliable enough, despite the fact that these aspects are essential parts of the workup of a patient presenting with acute abdominal pain. Traditionally, imaging workup starts with abdominal radiography. However, numerous studies have demonstrated low ...
متن کاملOrgan Dose Measurement in Computed Tomography Using Thermoluminescence Dosimeter in Locally Developed Phantoms
Introduction: Organ dose estimation using thermoluminescence dosimeter (TLD) is known to be a standard, although many other methods, such as simulation software, optically stimulated luminescent dosimeters, and photodiodes are still in use. This study aimed at directly measuring mean organ doses to the selected organs in the head/neck, chest, and abdominal regions from four computed tomography ...
متن کاملComputed Tomography Angiography of Situs Inversus, Portosystemic Shunt and Multiple Vena Cava Anomalies in a Dog
A 5-year-old Shih Tzu was presented with intermittent vomiting and anorexia. Microhepatica and reversed position of the abdominal organs were observed on radiography. Ultrasonographically, portosystemic shunt (PSS) was tentatively diagnosed. Computed tomography (CT) revealed that the distended portal vein drained into the left hepatic vein. The caudal vena cava (CdVC) split postrenally and conv...
متن کاملComparison of cone beam computed tomography and digital radiography in detection of pulpal exposure in external cervical root resorption
Background and Aims: Pulpal exposures originated from the external cervical root resorptions have major effects on the treatment and prognosis. Therefore, the aim of this study was performed to compare the two different imaging systems-digital radiography with PSP (Photostimulable Phosphor) sensor in three horizontal different views and CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) images to assess the ...
